Dogs For AdoptionTo ensure we find the best homes for dogs in our care, our adoption process involves several steps. Unfortunately, we cannot complete them all in one day. Adopting a dog requires a commitment of love and responsibility for the welfare of the animal, just as you would have for a human member of your family. Please consider the challenges that come with owning a dog as these challenges are often the very reason so many pets end up in shelters.
1. Complete our online adoption application. 2. Once your application has been reviewed, we will contact you. 3. A home check is done to ensure the dog will live in a suitable environment. 4. A meet and greet will be arranged for the adopter and the dog(s) of interest. 5. An adoption contract must be completed to finalize the adoption process. Please browse our dogs below. We try to update this information as dogs become available or are adopted. Our dogs live in foster homes while they await adoption. We do not operate a shelter/facility. |
Our goal is to find loving, lifelong homes for our dogs. We require an adoption application, a home inspection, and $250 adoption donation. This donation helps pay for medical care, dog food, and supplies.
Prior to adoption, all of our dogs receive a general veterinary checkup, vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test (treatment, if necessary), heart worm/flea/tick prevention, and spay/neuter.
Adoption donations are necessary to defer expenses for the dogs in our care. Just some of the expenses related to rescuing dogs:
Physical exam $40 Rabies vaccine $18 Distemper vaccine $16 Bordatella vaccine $11 Heartworm test $42 Spay/neuter $110-$250 Minimum total $237 Total does not include any medication, heart worm/flea/tick preventative, heart worm treatment, or additional medical needs. We prefer to adopt to eastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina (within a 50-mile radius), but we will consider long-distance adoptions on a case-by-case basis.
