Dogs For Adoption
Adopting a dog requires a commitment of love and responsibility for the welfare of the animal, just as you would have for a human member of your family. Please consider the challenges that come with owning a dog as these challenges are often the reason many pets end up in shelters.
Our goal is to find loving, lifelong homes for our dogs and our adoption process involves several steps. Filling out our adoption application does not guarantee an adoption; however, it is the first step in our process. Once your application has been reviewed, we will contact you. A home check is done to ensure the dog will live in a suitable environment. A meet and greet will be arranged for the adopter and dog(s) of interest. An adoption contract must be completed to finalize the adoption process with a $250 adoption donation, which helps pay for medical care, dog food, and supplies.
Prior to adoption, all of our dogs receive a general veterinary checkup, vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test/treatment, heart worm/flea/tick prevention, and spay/neuter. We prefer to adopt to southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina (within a 50-mile radius), but we will consider long-distance adoptions on a case-by-case basis. Our dogs live in foster homes while they await adoption. We do not operate a shelter/facility.
