Kayla

We met Kayla (formerly Ahava) in 2002 or 2003 through your organization and took her home that very day. She is a lab mix, possibly lab and golden retriever but we are not certain. At the time, she was grossly underweight, but still beautiful. We could tell she had puppies recently, and we think one may have been a black lab named Nick. At first she was nervous around kids and new people, but the more we exposed her to social situations, the more she enjoyed it. She has a little buddy next door -- a small dog named Scoodles who likes to steal her toys, but she thinks this is ok, because she has so many.

Kayla has been such a joy in our lives since day one and we cannot imagine life without her! She is such a sweetheart and very smart. Loves to chase squirrels, go for walks and fetch the newspaper and mail. She chases reflections like a cat and loves to snuggle with us in the winter when it's cold. She also plays Hide and Seek with her toys. She will wait at the top of the stairs, out of sight, while we hide her toy. Once she gets the ok signal, she'll search everywhere until she finds that one toy, ignoring all the others.

Thank you to K9 New Life for the wonderful work that you do; fostering dogs until their new owners find them. Kayla is such a wonderful addition to our family!
